DEVA PALMIER

DEVA PALMIER

DIRECTOR & WRITER

Deva Palmier is a British writer-director creating bold, character-driven stories that blend psychological realism with a touch of the surreal. A Berlinale Talent and BAFTA Connect alum, she was runner-up for the BBC New Filmmakers Award and is drawn to complex female leads and stories exploring transformation, identity, and emotional truth.

Her debut feature BLUE, starring Rosie Allerhand and Gemma Jones (Rocketman) with songs by Shirley Henderson (I Swear), now streaming on Prime Video, established her signature style: visually poetic, emotionally raw, and rooted in performance.

Deva’s current projects include 3 DEGREES, a psychological thriller, which follows a professional clutter-clearer whose buried trauma resurfaces with devastating consequences, and FINDING CLIVE, a romantic comedy about love, loss, and second chances, which she is developing for both film and television.

Her work has screened at international festivals including Edinburgh and AFI Fest, earning awards such as the Silver Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival. With a background in acting (Guildhall) and an MA in Feature Filmmaking (Distinction) from Bath Spa University, Deva brings a deep understanding of performance and emotional psychology to everything she directs. Deva's stories are cinematic, truthful, and ready to cross from screen to series.
