NADINE O'MAHONY

WRITER/DIRECTOR

Nadine is a writer/director of Irish and Jamaican origin who makes sharp, funny, and deeply human films about misfits searching for connection.

Nadine is a BAFTA Connect member, an Associate Member of Directors UK, and was selected for the BFI Midlands Directors Lab 2024 - firmly marking her as a talent to watch.

Her writing is already making waves:

  • VIDEO NASTY was longlisted for the Funny Women Awards (Best Comedy Writing) and shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Collective (top 5%).

  • She wrote the BFI-funded short RUSHED, which won Best Breakout at the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival.

  • In 2025, she was awarded BFI Early Development Funding for her debut feature Samefood.
It was then comissioned in 2026.

With a distinctive voice, razor-sharp comedy instincts, and a real tenderness for outsiders, Nadine’s work is bold, heartfelt, and unmistakably her own.
